The North Ridge Team

The quality of our people distinguishes The Residence at North Ridge -- and our whole North Ridge campus -- from other New Hope area senior housing and skilled nursing communities and ensures that our residents and patients receive the highest possible quality of care. North Ridge team members are highly competent, caring professionals with a proven track record in residential health and rehabilitation.

Independent and Assisted Living

Executive Director - William Wellner, Jr., CTRS

William Wellner, Jr.

Since 2001, Bill has worked in a number of capacities at both The Residence at North Ridge and North Ridge Health and Rehab. Previously, as Director of Recreation and Volunteer Services, he had managerial responsibilities for various auxiliary services including the Information Center and Switchboard, the Nook gift shop, the Beauty Shop, and Spiritual Care. He has also worked in Social Services and served as Interim East Building Administrator. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Leisure Services with a Business background. He is certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and Alzheimer’s Trainer. He also holds a Housing Manager Education Certificate.

In the community, Bill coaches and officiates youth basketball. He most enjoys spending time with his family and his two dogs.


Interim Director of Nursing - King David Dickson

King David Dickson

King was born in Liberia, West Africa. He left war-torn Liberia in 1990 to seek refuge on the Ivory Coast. After nine years, he came to America early in 1999, arriving in New York City. Life in New York proved hectic for the newcomer, so King moved to Minnesota and was hired at North Ridge Health and Rehab as a Certified Nursing Assistant. He enrolled in the Practical Nursing Program at Hennepin Technical College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in 2005. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul in 2012. King has held several positions at North Ridge Health and Rehab, including Charge Nurse, Building Supervisor, Nurse Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Interim Director of Nursing. He has also worked at St. Paul Community College as an adjunct instructor. He embraces an holistic approach to nursing care and considers not only the physical needs of his patients, but their emotional and spiritual needs as well. He builds trusting relationships with residents and their families by listening carefully to their individual needs.

In addition to King’s clinical expertise, he is an accomplished musician. He received a degree in Music Performance and Education from McNally Smith College of Music in 2010. He loves Gospel music, and he plays the piano for many churches, chorus groups and schools.


Sales and Marketing Director - Crissy Tohey

Crissy Tohey

Crissy has worked in the senior living industry since 2010. Her positions have included Executive Director, Housing Director, and Marketing Director. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and several fitness certificates. Previously, for 15 years, she was Sales Manager and General Manager at Lifetime Fitness.

Crissy is married with two teenage sons. Together, she and her family stay active—traveling, hiking, biking, and relaxing at their cabin.



Sales and Marketing Assistant - Ruth Ann Cesa

Ruth Ann CesaRuth graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing from Lake Superior College, formerly known as D.A.V.T.I. Previously, she was employed by MAURICES at their corporate office in Duluth. Following one exceptionally frigid winter however, she headed for warmer climes and after living in both California and Colorado, she returned to her home state to be closer to family and friends. Working in healthcare has long been her dream and, in particular, she strives to use her position in Sales and Marketing to assist individuals and families who find themselves in need of senior housing and health support services.

Ruth’s interests include cross country skiing, horticulture and gardening, hiking and archery.


Activity Coordinator - Cindy Heigel

Cindy HeigelCindy has been working in the healthcare industry for over 25 years. Her first job after high school was in the dietary department of a senior care center. Five years later, having attended The University of Minnesota, she transferred to a position as activities assistant, which she held for about ten years. She joined North Ridge in 2004 as a therapeutic recreation specialist prior to accepting her current role.

Cindy is often found outdoors, either in her garden or observing nature. She likes to bake, do projects around her home and spend time with her family.

Adult Day Program

Director - Lisa Desnick

Lisa DesnickLisa has long been a fixture at North Ridge, having volunteered on campus when she was in seventh and eighth grade. While in high school, she worked as part of the dietary team, serving meals to our residents. In 1993, Lisa became a social worker, focusing on individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of memory loss. She was previously employed on the Alzheimer’s unit of Trevilla of Golden Valley, now known as Golden Valley Rehabilitation and Care. She joined North Ridge in 1997 and is currently responsible for management of the Mission Today Adult Day Program as well as coordination of transportation for the campus and administration of the Memory Loss Support Group for Caregivers.

Lisa is married and has one daughter. She enjoys reading, trying new recipes and spending time with her family.
